Cool Jazz 2007 series ended with the
Season Finale. Four young musicians in the opening act Neocoustic,
displayed the burgeoning talent that abounds on this tiny island of
Barbados.
The audience was left in no doubt as to the musical versatility of young
Mistral
as she switched with ease from pan to wind instrument
Shamar Hinds on bass and Chad Ifill on drums played with infectious energy
and enthusiasm
The keyboard player Nakita Vaughn showed range and style, perfectly complementing
Mistral’s pan. Cool Jazz Producer Chris Harper expressed his delight
at the talents of the young performers
In the feature act of this final Cool
Jazz for the 08 season, vocalist Kellie Cadogan presented a powerful
performance
Kellie was ably backed by Julian Griffith on electric bass, Kirk Layne
on keyboards, Melvin Alic on drums and Nicholas Timothy on tenor sax
