The 2007 Cool Jazz series 5 will see a stronger strategic alliance between its producer Notes to Note Inc. and the prestigious Berklee College of Music. Over the past three years Berklee college of Music has participated in the Cool Jazz series by sending faculty members to perform at one of the six events which make up the series and by granting summer performance scholarships to Barbadian students. The success of this venture in Barbados has led Berklee to strengthen ties with Notes to Note Inc. and include Barbados as its hub in the region for the Berklee annual worldwide scholarship tour which will extend the scholarship focus to neighboring islands.

The Barbados leg of the tour will take place between the 23rd -25th of February 2007. Berklee will be sending a five member team comprising of two teaching faculty, two student representatives and the Head of the Scholarship Department. Auditions will be held on the 23rd and 24th and will also include a briefing session and an admissions interview, while on the 25th will be the Berklee Night of Cool Jazz which will feature faculty members John Pierce on Bass and Shannon Le Clare on saxophone at the Plantation Garden Theatre.

The scholarships will primarily be focused on full time courses however some summer performance scholarships may be awarded.
Special all inclusive hotel rates at the Island Inn hotel are also being offered to regional participants during this period.

For the scholarship audition only - fill out only section 1 of the
online application. Section 1 has four pages. After you will answer
all questions, just hit Submit Section 1.

If you are really interested in attending Berklee this Fall, please
fill out as well section #2 of the online application.
